Process for Submitting an Entry into the
Logbook of Intriguing and Noteworthy Persons
and the Obligatory Terms of Use

Don't you just hate it when someone takes a picture of your steampunk character, and just tosses it up on the web without mention of the character's name, background, and description of all of the cool detailing you painstakingly added to your attire? It's about time you got credit for all that hard work. That's where the “Logbook” comes in.
If you would like to submit your entry for the “Logbook for Intriguing and Noteworthy Persons,” here are a few things you need to know:

  • The primary goal of the Logbook is to allow steampunks to post their own pictures and associated details. You've worked hard on your costume, now you've found a place to show it off. Please only submit pictures of yourself that you have taken.
  • Your submission need not be associated with the Adventures of Drake & McTrowell.
  • You are not restricted to just a single image. We post a "thumbnail" image in the Logbook Table of Contents page, and on a separate web page specifically for you, a main character image on the web site (like the image of Austin Lane Crothers to the right, which is 5 x 8 inches, 72 pixels per inch). We can do the resizing of your image, if needed. Additional images can be included, such as close-ups of attire detail, footwear, or images of the back of the outfit if it has interesting details.
  • You must agree to the Terms of Use below.
  • We reserve the right to not post your submission.
To submit an entry, send an email from your account to david DOT drake DOT 1 AT me DOT com (with the appropriate substitutions). The reason for the obfuscation of the email is so that unscrupulous web crawlers that look for email addresses won't find it. But as an intelligent human, you know how to convert it into a real email address.

Please include the following in your email:

  • Your actual name.
  • State that you are willing to adhere to the Terms of Use as stated below on this page.
  • The name of your steampunk character (if it has one).
  • The reason that your character is in the Logbook (Is your character well-known? A braggart? An absinthe drinker? A mad scientist? A gambler? A hard-working coal-shoveling family man? An advocate for women's suffrage? Let us know why you'd be jotted down in Drake's Logbook!).
  • Provide the period in which your character resides. Naming a decade will do. You can add the location, if you wish.
  • If you desire, point out some of the details of your attire that you would like to share.
  • You can provide other character details, such as a quote or a link to a related web page.
  • Pictures of your character as described above.
  • Please indicate any information that you do NOT want published on the web (we will not be publishing any email addresses in any case).

We will send you a reply email to let you know when your steampunk character will be added to the
Logbook of Intriguing and Noteworthy Persons.
